The Hospital Umum Sarawak (HUS) upgrading project was A public-private partnership (PPP) initiative aimed at modernizing and expanding healthcare services in Kuching, Sarawak. Carried out between 2015 and 2020, the project was valued at RM360 million and implemented using the build-lease-maintain-transfer (BLMT) model. Its scope included the construction of A new day care centre, pathology laboratory, blood bank, multi-level car park, and A medi hotel, all of which were designed to improve operational efficiency and patient care at one of the region’s busiest hospitals.
HAPM Consultant Sdn Bhd played a crucial role in the project as the project management consultant (PMC). Their responsibilities included overseeing project planning, coordinating with stakeholders, monitoring construction quality, and ensuring adherence to cost and timeline expectations. HAPM also provided critical input on procurement processes and managed regulatory compliance throughout the project. By fulfilling these functions, hapm ensured that the project met its objectives efficiently while upholding public healthcare standards in line with the PPP framework.
