Project Overview
University Malaysia Sarawak or “UNIMAS” is one of the education infrastructure development undertaken by the Government of Malaysia to further strengthen the Nation’s educational and industrial resources. Developed with funding by the Japanese Government loans, UNIMAS is set to raise the academic excellence in East Malaysia particularly in Sarawak.
Located 10km southeast of Kuching, the development will take up 2000 acres. UNIMAS will, by 2005, be nurturing around 10,000 students in various disciplines.
The University buildings provide overall internal space of 105,000 sq. metres in a wide variety of architectural styles. A man-made lake was created resulting in a harmonized landscape where the buildings integrates gracefully into the existing landscape.
The components of the University include
▪ Infrastructure facilities including the Chancellery, eight faculty buildings , 5 R&D institutions and student accommodation.
▪ Extensive IT network
▪ Extensive R&D network & infrastructure
The University’s eight faculties are Resource Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Economics & Business, Social Sciences, Cognitive Science, Applied Creative Arts and Health Science.
HAPM was appointed to provide Integrated Project Management Services.
We were involved right from Client Brief Development stage , helping to define the exact and detailed User’s Requirements through to Design Development, Detailed Budget Development and Detail Planning .
We carried through our roles managing the construction phase , testing & commissioning and handing over process, all the time to ensure the Client’s Time , Cost and Quality objectives are being adhered to.
